Extension Programs
Animal science extension programs serve as crucial bridges connecting research in animal science with practical applications in the fields of beef cattle, equine, dairy, swine, sheep and goats, meat science, food safety, veterinary medicine and more. These programs aim to disseminate cutting-edge knowledge and innovative techniques to farmers, ranchers, and others involved in animal husbandry, enhancing productivity, animal welfare, and sustainable practices. Through workshops, publications, and direct consultation, extension specialists translate complex scientific findings into accessible, actionable guidance. This collaborative effort not only fosters improved animal production and health but also supports rural economies and promotes environmentally responsible farming practices.
