Areas of Expertise

Dr. Marko Rudar earned his Ph.D. in Animal Biosciences from the University of Guelph in 2016. Dr. Rudar completed postdoctoral work at the Children’s Nutrition Research Center, Baylor College of Medicine, in Houston. In 2026, Dr. Rudar joined the Department of Animal Science at Texas A&M University as an associate professor following six years as an assistant professor at Auburn University. Dr. Rudar’s research focuses on protein nutrition and amino acid metabolism in neonatal and nursery pigs, with particular emphasis on protein accretion and the metabolism of non-essential and sulfur-containing amino acids. Dr. Rudar’s teaching interests center on energy and protein metabolism in livestock animals. Dr. Rudar is an active member of the American Society of Animal Science and serves as an associate editor for the Journal of Animal Science.
