Ray Riley received a Congressional Recognition from Rep. Michael McCaul in Washington, D.C., in honor of his 46 years of service as manager of the Texas A&M Rosenthal Meat Science and Technology Center.

During his tenure, Riley employed, trained and mentored more than 400 student workers and supported the academic development of hundreds of graduate students. He has served as an advisor to the Texas A&M Saddle and Sirloin Club and currently advises the Texas A&M Meat Science and Technology Association.

Riley has recieved numerous awards, including the Saddle and Sirloin Outstanding Service Award, the Department of Animal Science Outstanding Service Award and the Vice Chancellor’s Award of Excellence.

In addition to receiving the recognition, Riley traveled to Washington, D.C., with Jeff Savell, Ph.D., Vice Chancellor and Dean for the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, and Davey Griffin, Ph.D., professor and Extension Meat Specialist. The team smoked brisket for members of Congress and shared the science behind the process.

This recognition celebrates the lasting impact of Riley’s career, as he prepares to retire at the end of the summer, leaving behind a remarkable legacy of service, mentorship and excellence.
