The Texas A&M Beef Center located within the O. D. Butler, Jr. Animal Science Complex has been building on a tradition of excellence that began more than fifty years ago. This tradition has continued for generations of Aggie beef students, teachers and industry professionals. Our goal is to meet their needs and aid in teaching, research and extension activities. Our commitment to the beef industry is stronger than ever. We’re building a solid herd of purebred cattle represented by Angus, Brahman, Hereford and Simmentals. The cattle herd is further complimented by a commercial cow herd consisting of composite cattle. These herds of cattle give our students hands-on experience with all areas of beef cattle management and marketing. We’re building and training students to be the beef industry leaders of tomorrow. If you’re interested in beef cattle production and management, the framework for a successful career is built at Texas A&M University.Former students and friends are welcome at the Beef Center at all times. Give us a call; we’d love to share what we’re building at the Beef Center.
