The Texas A&M University Academic Quadrathlon team represented the Southern Section in the American Society of Animal Science National Academic Quadrathlon competition recently in Kansas.  The four components of the competition include a written examination, laboratory practicum, oral presentation and  quiz bowl.  The first two components were hosted by Kansas State University in Manhattan, KS.  The final two components of the competition were held in Kansas City in conjunction with the Annual Meeting of the ASAS.

The TAMU team of Tyler Coufal (Troy, TX), Kaysi Dean (Eula, TX), Sydney Reese (Pleasant Grove, CA) and Kayley Wall (Boerne, TX) of Animal Science majors was  undefeated in the double elimination Quiz Bowl format.  The final round of the Quiz Bowl was conducted during the ASAS Awards Session. The Texas A&M team earned Reserve Champion Animal Science Academic Quadrathlon title behind The Ohio State University claiming the National Champion title.
