The Texas A&M Horse Judging Team hosted their annual summer horse judging camp June 2-4. The camp was the largest in size this year, doubling its numbers since 2021. Past and current team members helped with all of the teaching sessions and were fantastic leaders. Next month, we will be conducting for the first time a 2-day clinic in the East Coast. This is being co-partnered with Virginia Tech, as they are allowing us to host on their campus. The Horse Judging Program is now holding 3 national clinics bringing in people from more than 20 different states. We hope to continue to hold these three national camps yearly (Indiana, Texas, and Virginia) with hopes to help the next generation, recruit the next best and brightest, and promote more fundraising for our program.

Livestock Judging Team

The Texas A&M Livestock Judging Team held three successful judging camps this month in College Station! We welcomed 400 campers from 17 states who were taught selection principles, oral reasons, live market evaluation, and breeding animal performance data by department faculty and livestock judging team members. The camps offered a comprehensive learning experience in livestock judging across the department’s facilities.

We are grateful for the continued connections we make with youth in agriculture through these camps and learning experiences!
