Saddle and Sirloin reunion celebrates lifelong memories and friendships
Alumni gather ahead of 71st Annual Beef Cattle Short Course
Members of the Texas A&M University Saddle and Sirloin Club, class years 1973–1977, reunited on Sunday, Aug. 3, ahead of the 71st Annual Beef Cattle Short Course. The event provided an opportunity for alumni to reconnect and reminisce about their time at Texas A&M.
Sixty attendees enjoyed a barbecue dinner and heard updates from the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and the Department of Animal Science. Special guests included Clay Mathis, Ph.D., department head, and his wife, Rhonda, as well as Chris Skaggs, Ph.D., associate dean for student development.
Sharing memories
During the evening, members shared stories from their years in Saddle and Sirloin while a slideshow of 1970s-era photos and club events played in the background. Many reflected on the lifelong friendships and connections they built through the organization and encouraged current students to get involved and find their own community at Texas A&M.
