Dr. Householder served the department as an extension horse specialist for 30 years.  His influence allowed programs such as the Summer Horsemanship Schools and the State 4-H Horse Show, among many others, to grow and thrive.  Doug had a tremendous impact on the horse industry as a whole and he is truly missed.  In honor of his contributions to Texas A&M AgriLife Extension and specifically his support of the 4-H horse project, the 2022 Texas State 4-H Horse Show is being dedicated to his memory.
