The Texas A&M Stock Horse team competed at several shows this fall semester and was successful in both team and individual performances. Team members include: Morgan Moreno, Senior Captain, Liberty Hill, TX; Ellen Black, Senior Captain, Plano, TX; Sarah Savage, Marble Falls, TX; Taylor Godwin, Nederland, TX; Rachel Sembera, Tomball, TX; Anissa Cervera, San Antonio, TX; Hayley Walker, Lindale, TX; Kylie Reis, Oxford, MI; and Macie Mayes, Austin, TX. The Stock Horse team is coached by Paige Linne.
At the first show in Bryan, Texas, the team was reserve champion collegiate team. Kylie Reis was novice all-around champion. All of the non-pro and novice riders placed in the top ten for all around of their division. Those riders included Morgan Moreno, Sarah Savage, Kylie Reis, Ellen Black, Anissa Cervera and Macie Mayes.
The team also excelled at the second show in Stephenville, Texas, winning champion collegiate team, beating two tough teams from Texas Tech. Ellen Black was novice all-around champion and Anissa Cervera was novice all-around reserve champion. Kylie Reis and Macie Mayes also placed in the top ten in novice all-around awards. Morgan Moreno was 6th place all-around non pro rider, and Rachel Sembera was 7th place all-around limited non-pro rider.
At their final competition of the semester, the team was reserve champion collegiate team at the Stock Horse of Texas (SHOT) World Show in Abilene, Texas held Oct. 28 – 29, 2016. Anissa Cervera was novice SHOT world champion. Kylie Reis was 7th overall novice, Macie Mayes was 9th overall novice, Ellen Black was 12th overall novice, and Taylor Godwin was 9th overall limited non-pro.
