Professional Summary

Dr. Angela Parry-Hanson Kunadu is a Food Microbiology and Safety specialist affiliated with the Institute for Advancing Health through Agriculture (IHA, AgriLife Research). She received her B.Sc. in Cell Biotechnology from University of Alberta in 2003, her Master’s in Food Science from University of Pretoria in 2006 and her PhD in Food Science from University of Pretoria in 2010. She worked as a food quality and safety professional in the food industry prior to joining faculty at University of Ghana.

Dr. Kunadu’s postdoctoral research is focused on developing and characterizing multifunctional nanoparticles from plant products to enhance microbiological safety and shelf-life of fresh produce. She sits on the editorial board of Journal of Applied Microbiology and does guest reviews for other food microbiology/safety journals.
