Three of the department's competitive teams kicked off the new year in Colorado at the historic National Western Stock Show. Results from NWSS and additional contests are below.

Livestock Judging Team

The Texas A&M Livestock Judging Team competed at two contests on January 11 and 12 during the National Western Stock Show in Denver. Earlier in January, the team also competed at the OKC Cattlemen's Congress in Oklahoma.

NWSS Hill Contest

Meat Judging Team

The Texas A&M Meat Judging Team were named the champion team at the National Western Stock Show on January 15.

The FTAMJT '24 will practice one week in Rosenthal before heading to the Texas Panhandle to practice for the Southwestern Contest in Fort Worth.


Wool Judging Team

The Texas A&M Wool Judging Team was named the 2024 National Western Stock Show Champion Collegiate Wool Judging Team on January 11. The team also competed earlier in January at the Wyoming 7220 Collegiate Wool Judging Contest.

The team is coached by Shane Flanagan and assistant coaches Jaxson Zimmerman and Carson Carter. Outgoing coaches Carson Millican and Miles Mathis also assisted.
