Retired faculty members Dr. Joe Paschal and Dr. James O. "Jim" Sanders recognized for meritorious service
We are pleased to share that the Texas A&M System Board of Regents has granted Professor Emeritus distinction to Dr. Joe Paschal and Dr. Jim Sanders, recognizing their meritorious service to Texas A&M.
Dr. Paschal, well-known among Gulf Coast and statewide beef cattle producers as the go-to source for science-based information, retired from his role as professor and extension livestock specialist based in Corpus Christi in 2022. His career in beef education spanned over 40 years.
Dr. Sanders retired as professor of animal breeding in 2023 after more than 50 years in our department. Dr. Sanders continues to influence the industry because of his love for students, teaching and research. It is estimated that Dr. Sanders taught more than 10,000 students since joining the department faculty in 1974.
We are thankful for the Board of Regents for honoring these esteemed educators and mentors with Professor Emeritus distinction. Help us congratulate Dr. Paschal and Dr. Sanders!
