In Memory: Dr. Milt Thomas
Dr. Milton Glen Thomas Memorial Scholarship Established
It is with a heavy heart that we mourn the passing of our friend and animal science colleague, Dr. Milt Thomas.
Milt was a research professor in the Department of Animal Science and the Texas A&M AgriLife Research Station in Beeville. He was a wonderful educator, mentor, and friend to many. Milt’s knowledge and impact were felt around the world through his work in using beef cattle breeding populations to serve the teaching, research, and extension mission of land grant universities. Milt’s career included time at land grant universities in New Mexico, Colorado, and Texas, where his research directly translated into important resources for countless cattle producers.
An esteemed educator, he was passionate about mentoring graduate students and taught several thousand undergraduate animal science students throughout his career. His leadership and devotion to the beef cattle industry were evident through his service to scientific organizations, breed associations, and the ranching community.
A scholarship fund in memory of Dr. Milton Thomas has been established at the Texas A&M Foundation. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to the Texas A&M Foundation, 401 George Bush Drive, College Station, Texas 77840. Please designate the Dr. Milton Glen Thomas Memorial Scholarship in the memo line of the check.
