The Aggies had a great start to the fall season of livestock judging. The team took home the following awards from the National Swine Judging Contest (the National Swine Registry sponsored collegiate contest) in Woodward, OK, on September 3, 2022.

Michael Rezendes- 1st overall; Logan Jackson- 2nd overall; Carter Burgin- 4th overall; Lauren Thomas- 5th overall; Katie Kempen- 6th Overall; Maddie Schroeder- 10th overall; Mason Pape- 11th overall (tied for 10th)

Meat Judging Team

Texas A&M Meat Judging Team

The ’22 FTAMJT and the upcoming ’23 FTAMJT spent the day volunteering at the Hog Splash benefiting Brazos Valley Hospice, hosted by Slovacek Sausage in Snook, Texas. We want to thank Slovacek Sausage for their continued support of the Texas Aggie Meat Judging Program!The 2022 Fightin’ Texas Aggie Meat Judging Team kicked off their fall season with a beef grading trip to Tyson Amarillo. All ten team members are returning to compete in four contests this fall. Wish them luck as they take off on September 26th for their first contest, the Eastern National in Wyalusing, PA on October 1st.

Ranch Horse Team

The Ranch Horse Team’s first competition of the season will be at the Brazos County Expo Center in Bryan, Texas, September 24-25, 2022.

The new team roster and divisions are as follows:

  • Non Pro – Emma Thrasher, Tucker Gillespie, Whitney Moody
  • Intermediate/Limited – Sara Saxe, Kaley Berkley, Josh Nichols
  • Novice – Reagan Loxton, Haley Winkler, Krisondra McMellian, Grace Chambers, Anna Beth Muck, Jessica Sperber (school horse), Kelly Wendel (school horse), Natalie Leishman (school horse) with Coach Paige Linne and grad student Amanda Baxter

The TAMU Ranch Horse Team is working hard and excited to kick off the season with the new team!
