Livestock judging team wins State Fair of Texas Intercollegiate contest
The Texas A&M Livestock Judging Team did not let the current pandemic stand in the way of success at the 2020 State Fair of Texas. While practicing social distancing and abiding by safety standards, the team brought home top honors, in more ways than one. Second Annual All Judging Teams Reunion Held
The second annual Department of Animal Science All Judging Teams Reunion was held September 13, 2019, at the Brazos County Expo. Former judging team members and their families enjoyed an evening of fellowship, camaraderie, and reliving the good old days. Attendees were greeted with a special treat as they entered the Brazos Expo Friday night. Department of Animal Science introducing new judging team
By: Dr. Courtney Daigle In November, the Department of Animal Science sent the first Animal Welfare Judging Team to compete in the 17th Annual Intercollegiate Animal Welfare Judging and Assessment Contest at Iowa State University. Over 250 graduate, undergraduate, and veterinary students from 18 universities across the US and Canada evaluated the welfare of farmed fish, meat rabbits, racing greyhounds, and finisher pigs. Meat Judging team selected to travel to Australian contest
COLLEGE STATION – The 2017 Fightin’ Texas Aggie Meats Judging Team is honored to have been invited to attend the 2017 Australian Intercollegiate Meat Judging Contest in New South Wales, Australia. The team consists of dedicated and talented students interested in competition and excited to represent the Department of Animal Science and the United States. Stock horse team has successful season
The Texas A&M University Stock Horse team has had a successful spring. At the San Antonio Livestock Show and Rodeo, Stock Horse team members Anissa Cervera and Lane Birkenfeld paired with Texas Aggie Rodeo team members to compete in the Collegiate Ranch Rodeo Showdown. This was a head to head competition against Texas Tech University. Together, the Stock Horse and Rodeo teams brought home the Champion title! Both the livestock and wool judging teams brought back reserve champion honors from their respective contests at the San Antonio Livestock Show and Rodeo. In addition to reserve, the wool team also placed third overall with a second team.
