Yates Family Livestock Judging Extravaganza brings youth competitors to Texas A&M
The Texas A&M Livestock Judging Team hosted the first annual Yates Family Livestock Judging Extravaganza this past weekend, welcoming youth livestock judgers from across Texas to campus for two days of competition, education and skill development.
The event provided students the opportunity to evaluate livestock classes while learning from industry professionals and collegiate livestock judging team members. Participants strengthened their evaluation and oral reasons skills through hands-on experiences designed to prepare them for future judging contests and leadership opportunities in the livestock industry.
The Department of Animal Science extends a special thank you to the Yates family for their generous support of the event. Their investment helps create meaningful educational opportunities for youth involved in the livestock industry.
The department also thanks the many livestock producers who donated animals and supported the contest. Their contributions provided students with high-quality classes and valuable learning experiences throughout the event.
