The Texas A&M Beef Quiz Bowl team placed 3rd in the National Collegiate Beef Quiz Bowl co-sponsored by the National Cattlemen’s Foundation and the American Society of Animal Science held at the NCBA Annual Convention in Nashville, TN. The Team qualified for the contest by winning the 2016 Southern Section American Society of Animal Science Academic Quadrathlon competition. Team members were Maddy Wilson a senior ANSC major from Spring Branch, Texas; Sierra Francis a December 2016 ANSC graduate from Mckinney, TX’; Logan Speck a December 2016 ANSC graduate from Early, TX and Callie Henly a senior ANSC/AG Communications & Journalism double major from San Augustine, TX.

The 2017 Texas A&M Academic Quadrathlon Team competed against ten teams at the Southern Section American Society of Animal Science AQ contest in Franklin, TN. Overall ranking of the TAMU team was third behind Texas Tech and Auburn University. TAMU placed third in the Quiz Bowl, fourth in the written exam, fifth in the oral presentation and sixth in the lab practicum sections of the contest. Team members were Sydney O’Daniel, a senior ANSC/Plant and Environmental Soil Science double major from Bennngton, NE; Katie Franck, a senior ANSC major from San Antonio , TX, Sara McManus a freshman ANSC major from McDade, TX and Jason Winkler a freshman ANSC major from Lexington, TX. Dr. David Forrest serves as the Advisor for the AQ team
