Texas A&M Stock Horse Team wins reserve title

BRYAN — The Texas A&M University Stock Horse Team earned the reserve champion collegiate title at the Stock Horse of Texas Show held in Bryan on Sept. 26.

The team is coached by animal science graduate student Michelle Glover and assistant coach Paige Linne.

Texas A&M secured several individual honors and class wins to capture the reserve finish.

Individual results are:

Open/Non-Pro Division

  • Kyla Kalinowski – All-Around Champion

Limited Non-Pro Division               

  • Morgan Moreno – 5 th place All-Around
  • Haley Birkenfeld – 7th place All-Around
  • Sarah Savage– 6th place All-Around

“Overall, I believe we had a great first show,” said Glover. “In the coming weeks we will be working on fine-tuning our performances in preparation for our next show in Stephenville.”

Team members are Haley Birkenfeld an education major from Nazareth, Lane Birkenfeld an accounting major from Nazareth, Sarah Savage an animal science and agricultural economics major from Marble Falls, Morgan Merino an animal science major from Georgetown, Rachel Sembera an animal science major from Tomball, Kyla Kalinowski an animal science major from Seguin, Madison Crum an animal science major from Millington, Tn, Ellen Black an animal science major from Plano, Anissa Cervera an animal science major from San Antonio, and Kylie Reis a biomedical science major from Oxford, Michigan.

The team competes next at the Stock Horse of Texas Show in Stephenville on Oct. 9-11.
