Dr. Wes Osburn guest speaker at Muster ceremony in Iraq’s FOB Prosperity
BAGHDAD, IRAQ — animal Science Associate Professor Dr. Wes Osburn, currently on duty in Iraq, served as the guest speaker for a Muster ceremony held at FOB Prosperity on April 21, 2010, and also served something extra: a taste of Aggieland.
The Association of Meat Processors sends Dr. Osburn monthly shipments of shelf-stable products to enjoy and share with his troops. This last shipment was from Rosenthal Meat Center and included packages of Texas Aggie Brand Beef Jerky.
Dr. Osburn was asked to speak at the Muster ceremony after Aggie Football Coach Mike Sherman, who was the scheduled speaker, had to postpone his trip due to the Icelandic volcanic ash. Osburn decided to share his Aggie beef jerky with the Aggie troops at Muster and stated, “they all loved the ‘taste of Aggieland’.”
