Dr. Joe Gillespie grew up in the small Texas town of Poteet, south of San Antonio. From the time he was 10 years old, Gillespie knew he wanted to be a veterinarian and appropriately, always wanted to attend Texas A&M. Writer: Olivia Norton Mary Anne (Wegenhoft) White has never questioned her passion for animals. She grew up near Baton Rouge, La., and often visited her dad’s family ranch in Columbus, Texas.  With a family history in agriculture and a dream of becoming a veterinarian, many of Mary Anne’s youth activities included animals.
