Dr. Ronald Gill is professor and Extension livestock specialist stationed at the Texas A&M Research and Extension Center in Stephenville. He is also a member of the animal nutrition section in the Department of Animal Science and the Institute of Equine Science and Technology at Texas A&M University. He earned his bachelor's and master's degrees from Angelo State University and his doctorate from Texas A&M University.

Gill assists in providing leadership to statewide programming efforts for the Texas Beef Safety and Quality Assurance Program. In a cooperative effort, the Texas Beef Quality Producer Program was developed with the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raiser's Association, Texas Beef Council and Texas Cooperative Extension to deliver the Beef Safety and Quality Assurance program to Texas producers. In addition, he is involved in the Integrate Resouce Management (IRM) of ranch resources focusing on forage and beef cattle production and management in both cow-calf and stocker operations. The IRM efforts link directly with the Beef Quality in Texas initiative and the national effort into Total Quality Management (TQM) of beef cattle, focusing on nutrition, health and genetic factors affecting quality.

Gill has received the Vice Chancellor's Award in Excellence for his support and performance as a member of an Interdisciplinary Team implementing the National Cattlemen's Association, Standardized Performance Analysis program for Texas beef cattle producers. In addition, Gill serves on the Advisory Board for the Integrated Resource Management Subcommittee within the National Cattlemen's Beef Association.

Professional memberships include the American Society of Animal Science and the Equine Nutrition and Physiology Society. Other memberships include the National Cattlemen's Beef Association, the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association, the American Quarter Horse Association and the Ft. Worth Farm and Ranch Club.
