Exhibiting cattle has been a source of exposure for the Beef Centers genetics and its students for years. It has proven to be a way for our students to understand marketing and serves as a means for them to become involved with fellow breeders within the industry.
In 2002 the TAMU Beef Center began exhibiting our registered Simmental cattle at a variety of livestock competitions. Since this time cattle out of the A&M program have been very successful, with championships at every major show in Texas as well as Kansas City’s American Royal and the North American International Livestock Exposition in Louisville, Kentuky.
Our philosophy about showing is that it is not only about the competition but it is about understanding another niche within the diverse cattle industry for our students.
