Texas A&M University in College Station opened in 1876 as the first public institution of higher learning in Texas. It is a land, sea and space grant University and the 5,200 acre campus is also home of the George Bush Presidential Library. Currently, over 43,000 students are enrolled in the undergraduate, graduate and professional programs and the University is ranked in the top 10 nationally in overall research expenditures ($393.7 million), overall enrollment, and the number of national merit scholars. Texas A&M University is part of a statewide system of nine universities that also includes the Texas Agricultural and Engineering Experiment Stations throughout Texas.
Program Information
The Interdisciplinary Faculty of Reproductive Biology (IFRB) is composed of faculty and graduate students from several departments and colleges and is housed administratively within the Department of Animal Science. Admission to graduate programs requires approval by an academic department. Completion of a thesis/dissertation is required for the M.S. or Ph.D. degree in Physiology of Reproduction or other departmenta degree programs linked to the IFRB. All students are required to complete a core curriculum of courses in toxicology, physiology, biochemistry and statistics. In addition, electives may be selected from a number of advanced courses providing additional training.
