Purpose: The purpose of the Center for Food Safety within the Department of Animal Science (ANSC) is to expand and improve food safety activities within the Department and across other departments or units, and to enhance external visibility and public knowledge of these activities.
- Goals
- Assist with the identification of external and internal funding opportunities.
- Assist with the development of grants of applications for funding
- Ensure the ANSC Department or appropriate faculty members are represented on/at key committees, boards, and meetings.
- Enhance the publicity of food safety research and accomplishments.
- Assure that appropriate individuals (within and outside ANSC) are included on proposals.
- Coordinate food safety outreach and training efforts
- Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies and other entities that impact food safety.
